Last week we launched a brand new website for Silverback UK. Silverback are crewing Company that have worked on events such as Glastonbury, V Festival and recently the Commonwealth Games. They came to us as their old site was looking a bit outdated and they wanted something more visual and cutting edge. The design process wasn’t as straight forward as we thought as a lot of competitors websites were fairly unimaginative. With this in mind we decided not to use the competition as a reference and use our design expertise to create something a bit different. We decided to build the website on WordPress as it is our favourite CMS platform as it is very customisable and is easy for the client to update content on a regular basis.
Silverback provided some really good imagery for us to work with and the main section of the homepage was to be used for a bold image. We tried a few different images but eventually thought a video in this section could be more striking. Silverback provided us with the video which we tried and liked how it looked. The high resolution video did look ok but we weren’t quite happy so decided to distort the video slightly which gave us the effect that we wanted.
The rest of the site we decided to keep clean and tidy with plenty of white space and gaps between the content to make the different sections stand out. Finally we added some nice touched to the hover over to the categories so that there was some movement on the page and are really happy with the end product. The homepage is below and you can click to view the full website.
